In response to U.S. airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has called an emergency meeting in Vienna.
IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi expressed serious concern over the likely damage inflicted on Iran’s underground Fordow uranium enrichment plant, describing it as “very significant,” though the full extent is still under assessment.
Grossi also called on Iran to permit international inspectors to return to its nuclear sites to verify and account for its stockpile of highly enriched uranium, warning that transparency is critical to preventing further escalation.
