World gets its first AI news anchor

The world’s first AI news anchor has finally, made its first presence in China.

During the fifth World Internet Conference organized in China’s Zhejiang Province, the Chinese Government state-run news agency Xinhua News introduces the first male AI news anchor who can continuously read the news for 24 hours and can do facial expression as well as like a real anchors do.

The AI anchor was jointly developed by Chinese search engine company Sogou.com and Xinhua News Agency and can read news in English as well as Mandarin language.

According to Xinhua, “The AI anchor has now become the member of its reporting team and can work 24 hours a day on its official websites and various social media platforms, reducing news production costs and improving efficiency.”
