In a world increasingly defined by division, conflict imagery, and polarized narratives, Creative agency Enormous Brands, in collaboration with The Photographic Society of India, has launched “If Only”, a powerful short film that challenges how humanity perceives ‘the other side.
Built entirely around a single, continuous cello composition and told without dialogue, the film travels across moments of tension and confrontation, where opposing individuals are brought face-to-face. Instead of escalating conflict, the presence of a camera becomes a turning point, softening expressions, dissolving barriers, and revealing shared humanity.
At its core, the film questions a world where guns have become symbols of division and proposes a simple, urgent counterpoint: what if perspective itself could change everything?
Speaking about the intent behind the film, Ashish Khazanchi, Managing Partner, Enormous said, “We wanted to create something that doesn’t add to the noise of conflict, but quietly interrupts it. ‘If Only’ is not a statement of sides, it is a reminder that how we choose to see each other defines what we become. The idea was to replace confrontation with observation, and in doing so, restore a sense of shared humanity.”
The film aligns deeply with the philosophy of the Photographic Society of India, an institution rooted in the belief that photography is not merely documentation, but a tool for human connection and perspective-building.
If Only positions photography as more than an art form. It becomes a quiet act of intervention in a world overwhelmed by visual conflict. The film closes with a simple yet striking provocation: “If only the world had more Canons than Guns.” The term ‘canons’ refers to tools, traditions, and principles of image-making. No association with any brand or trademark is intended. This film celebrates photography, not products.
