Apple finalizes Shazam Acquisition Deal

Originally announced in 2017 and later delayed by lengthy European regulatory inquiry, Apple finally has completed its acquisition of Shazam, the music identification app. Shazam has been downloaded over a billion times since its release and with the acquisition, the app will go completely add free, Apple sources promulgated.

The long delay stemmed out a genuine concern of using Shazam’s user data in shifting customers from rival music streaming services. However, after thorough investigation, the European authority has approved the deal adducing that it wouldn’t harm competition.
