United States offered $474 million in assistance to Afghanistan in FY2021

The U.S. State Department’s Spokesperson, Ned Price said, “We have provided $474 million in the fiscal year 2021.”

Speaking on the Humanitarian and economic situation in Afghanistan, U.S State Department Spokesperson Ned Price has said, “We are concerned about the deteriorating situation in Afghanistan, which was because of different aspects — military wars, drought, Taliban takeover, and due to continued absence of financial systems.”

“The fact is, even before the Taliban takeover, the Afghan economy was affected — the citizens relied on foreign aid and assistance for their basic needs,” Ned said.

Further adding to the statement, Ned Price said, “So far, we have provided $474 million in the fiscal year 2021 and over $4 billion since the United States engaged in Afghanistan in 2022.”
