Pet grooming startup Captain Zack secures $1.5 million in Pre-series A round funding

Captain Zack, a Mumbai based pet grooming startup has secured $1.5 million in Pre-series A round funding, in an aim to increase the brand awareness and marketing.

The round was led by Industrialists Kushal Desai and Chaitanya Desai with the participation of Japan Vyas, co-founder of Sixth Sense Ventures who had been an angel investor in the company including Naval Bir Kumar (head of IDFC Asset Management), Sunil Agarwal and Ketan Shah.

Founded in 2017 by Mohit Lalvani, Captain Zack offers a toxin-free range of pet products comprising specially made formulations that are paraben-free and vegan and also sells its products via its own platform as well as other e-commerce platforms like Flipkart, Amazon.

Mohit Lalvani, MD & Founder of EM Personal Care, the parent company of Captain Zack said ” funding will be primarily used for Captain Zack, part of it will also be used for Coccoon, the other brand owned by EM Personal Care, which offers unique beauty formulations using exotic fruits and plants, such as a non-invasive wrinkle filler, high-end night serum, radiance cream.

“Coccoon is a brand that seeks to protect and pamper through innovative haircare and skincare products that use natural actives instead of harmful chemicals,” it added.
