Piyush Goyal: Cabinet approves Rs 10,900 crore PLI Scheme for the food processing sector

The Union Cabinet has approved the Rs 10,900 crore as incentives under the Production Link Incentives (PLI) Scheme for the food processing industry.

“Headed by PM Narendra Modi, the approved scheme will be for six years ending in 2026-27, and is expected to generate over 2.50 lakh jobs,” the Government said.

Speaking on the development, Union Minister for Railways, Piyush Goyal said, “The move Is a fitting tribute to our farmers, who managed to expand our agriculture output despite the year seeing a pandemic breakout.”
