Elon Musk says Tesla would be interested in buying GM idle factories

A U.S. based electric car manufacturing company Tesla Motors has shown its interest in buying a defunct General Motors (GM) plants to increase its manufacturing productions.”

In a 60 mins interview with CBS News, Elon Musk, founder and CEO of Tesla said that “We might be interested in taking over the five factories that General Motors plans to close next year, including the plant in Lordstown.”

Talking more about this, Musk told Lesley Stahl that “It is possible that we would be interested, if they were going to sell a plant or not use it, that would take it over.”

The announcement had come at the time when announced that it will cut off more than 14,000 employees in North America as it ends productions at five plants.
