Flipkart Enters Insurance Sector, Partners with Bajaj Allianz

In order to enter the insurance sector – a global $27 billion industry – the e-commerce giant, Flipkart has collaborated with Bajaj Allianz General Insurance.

This partnership will enable the firm to provide customized insurance solutions to enhance its phone protection programme offered with all the leading mobile phone sold on the platform.

Furthermore, Flipkart is going to offer both cash payments or free pick up options alongside service and drop convenience for customers. This all new offering will kick off from 10th October with the beginning of Flipkart’s Big Billion Day.

“In line with our customer-first policy and as the market leader in this segment, insurance felt like the logical next step in providing consumers with excellent after-sales care for their phones.

The plan, from purchase, to claim, will be completely integrated into our online platform…” said Ravi Garikipati, Senior Vice President and head of Fintech, Flipkart.”
