Ashok Leyland records 28 percent decline in December sales

India’s largest auto-manufacturing giant Ashok Leyland has reported a decline of 28 percent in its total commercial vehicle sales in December.

In a filing at a stock exchange, the company said, “We have recorded a decline of 28 percent in our total commercial vehicle sale at 11,168 units in December, as compare to 15,490 units which the company sold a year ago.”

“The company has also reported a sharp decline in its Medium and heavy commercial vehicle sales in the domestic market dropped by 40 percent to 6,369 units against 10,624 units which company sold in the same month last year.”

Further adding to the statement, Ashok Leyland said that “It has also witnessed a decline of 2 percent in its Light commercial vehicle sales at 4009 units as compared to 4,097 units for the same month last year.”
